Saying good-bye is less about something ending and more about new beginnings and exciting possibilities.
Well I have one week until I leave, less than that, 4 days. I am not freaking out as much as I thought I would but I'm sure the freak out will come. I have managed to pack my two checked bags and two carry on bags. I refuse to look at them now, as I don't want to repack them. I am spending the week eating at my favorite places, drinking wine (they do not have good wine there), and visiting with friends and family.
So people have been asking me what my expectations are for this journey and to be honest I don't have any. I tend to jump into adventures eyes wide shut, I like it that way. This way I can't be disappointed, I can only be surprised. I hope that I enjoy my time in Guyana, and that I make good friends, and have a grand adventure. I also hope to make a difference in at least one persons life. I want to learn more about my profession and about myself. But other than that, I am up for where ever life takes me.
The next time you should hear from me will be after about 2 weeks of being in Guyana. I will not have internet for the first 10 days, so don't fret if you don't hear from me. If you are wanting to track my flight it is April 21st from Miami to Georgetown, departing at 3:20 pm. Talk to you all soon!
What a wonderful adventure you are starting in your life and what a way to LIVE life! I am proud to know you....and I sure will be sending you a care package after you get there and find out what you need that you hadn't thought of ;-) God bless you and all those you will be helping.
